Do you suffer from stress?
Stress is a fact of life in today's fast paced world. As I'm sure you're well aware, stress can negatively impact your health and well-being. Massage therapy has been shown to significantly reduce the physical and psychological effects stress has on your body. As a massage therapist, I have experienced and provided to clients the positive effects massage has on stress. In a study on the effect of massage, there was a significant decrease in heart rate, systolic blood pressure, and diastolic blood pressure. Lower levels of oxygen consumption, decreased blood pressure, and salivary cortisol after a 10 to 15 minute chair massage. Changes in perceived stress, depression and anxiety have all been noted after a massage session. To help reduce your stress, I recommend a 75 minute Advanced Integrated Massage or a 100 minute Swedish Massage. You can find more information about both of these modalities on the Menu of Modalities page. To read more about my clients experiences related to stress and massage visit the Testimonials page.
Is lower back pain slowing you down?
"Massage may be serious medicine..." a quote from a July 5, 2011 WebMD article. In the reported study, researchers assigned 400 participants with moderate to server lower back pain to massage therapy for treatment. After 10 weeks of weekly massage treatments, this group reported greater then average improvements then the control group. With up to 39% of the massage participants reporting near complete or complete relief, experts believe these are better results then you can have with over the counter medications. I recommend a 75 or 100 minute Advanced Integrated Massage for weekly or bi-weekly treatment of your lower back pain. Please refer to the Menu of Modalities page for more details about this massage.
Relaxation & More...
Regular massage treatments are enjoyed by many because it often involves caring, comfort, and a sense of empowerment. The long flowing strokes of a swedish massage along with lighter pressure will serve to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system placing you in a deep state of relaxation and comfort. To aid in your complete relaxation I suggest a 100 minute Swedish Massage.
